I spent an hour just leisurely strolling about and absorbing the spirit of holidays past at an antique shop near me and saw so many lovely things, I decided to do an impromptu photo shoot with my iPhone.
There are many vendors here, each with their own flair for display. Some offer new ornaments along with the vintage ornaments you'll find this time of year. Though most of us have our holiday decorating completed by now, it can be a good place to pick up special and unique ornaments to adorn your gifts or a place to enjoy looking and inspiration for next year.
(Many vendors are offering 20% off or more right now, too.)
A few more things that caught my eye...
A nice set of rose colored glasses for gifting or for serving eggnog to your guests.

I liked this tiered wire storage piece...maybe even include fruit when gifting (three different pear varieties would be pretty.) I found many pillows I liked for gifting made from old linens and grain sacks as well as linen yardage and well-priced grain sacks to make your own custom design. (A monogrammed piece makes a special gift if you happen to find the initials of someone you know.)
So many people I know would
love receiving one of these.
Many lovely linen napkin sets.
Great old bench, too.
Charming doorstop or bookend.
Many holiday decorating ideas on display.
A heart ornament would be pretty atop a package.
A handsome industrial lamp.
Another set of glasses for gifting
or your own holiday parties.
Metal leaf ornaments for
the tree or gift toppers.
the tree or gift toppers.
Delicate glass ornaments and silver trays.
A lovely portrait. Beautiful coloration.
One of many storage options I saw...many wire baskets in all shapes and sizes to use for desk, kitchen or closet organizers or perhaps fill for a holiday gift basket.
Saw this great hat box case with leather trim. Nice storage piece for accessories or a unique picnic basket or another fun idea: gift as a mini bar filled with petite bottles.
Many beautiful and functional collector's pieces: ironstone, creamware, pewter, silver...
More holiday decorating ideas and items for gifting.
Pretty wire tray for a vanity.
Cases and cases of vintage and
antique jewelry pieces and watches.
Also new and unique artisan pieces, as well.
Love the coloration of this dress form.
Gift as an art piece or to store/display necklaces.
Books are always a favorite gift of mine. You can find any subject matter and if you are lucky, maybe even a 1st edition. I bought "The Little Prince" here to gift last year and a set of leather bound classics, c1928.
Vintage clothes and handbags are fun to browse through too and can even be gifted if you know someone well enough.
Alex had been looking for a New Year's Eve dress and I saw a pretty vintage one here I told her about. It needed to be taken in a bit, but we thought with a little tailoring it could work and since it was just $45, she thought it was worth a try. We have a great tailor we use who is charging $55 for the alterations, so for just $100 Alex will have a beautiful and unique dress, fitted to her perfectly.

I hope this gives you a few ideas if you were in need of some last-minute inspiration—or just an escape from all your last-minute responsibilities for a bit. :)
Merry, merry!
